Comparison of several search engines @ google #5 after 1 day

Yesterday I opened the blog and today, I am linked already in them! I thought it might be a good idea to try the search engines and see what they find today. Also it might be nice to know, for some, what other search engines give in output?

That is what I found in my little comparison of searching for:

2010 loveparade “21 death” 500 victims

put in several search engines. Place in the page ranks:

  • Google.com: 5th , 6th
  • Scroogle.org: 4th, 5th
  • iXquick.com: 3rd
  • Startpage.com: 4th
  • Yahoo.com: 4th, 5th

for sure only with the right search term! 😉

# (t.wp) = found through a tag of WordPress

# (!) = direct hit, which found my site (as I imagined the search term ) 😉

Privacy (++, +, o, -, – – ) , SearchRate (++, +, o, -, – – )

At Google number five finds exactly my site , that’s nice, but for sure, only if searching for those exact words…

I also had a look at meta-crawler.com but it found to much yahoo and ads, had been better, but maybe not right thing for this experiment, as it searches the search engines.

So concluding get an SSL search engine, which keeps your privacy,

or just use that one that may(for sure) track you for a long time.

Google and Scroogle:
So if you want to search Google, you could also use Scroogle‘s scraper, which will search Google, but busts the ads and the cookie and tracking. A pity it is not available in https (SSL).

Ixquick and Startpage:
Both search engines are more or less the same. Ixquick was first, Startpage came later on, giving it some easier to remember name.
They are NOT tracking, do not use cookies and are available in https (SSL), which means you communicate with the website, through a secure tunnel.

Yahoo:
Old search engine might have been better, as there was no Google. 😉

By the way search engines themselves get a lot from interlinking with other search engines. (So to say Yahoo get some of Google).
Google in my opinion had the best performance, as it got the search terms perfect match. Which of course means that Google found the source. The article https://2010loveparade.wordpress.com/2010/07/29/statistic-of-victims-opferstatistiken/ has numbers, which I myself compiled from different news sources, making it a unique compilation and a great search word.

The origin was found by Google, while the others got it through searching for WordPress tags.

Hope that gives you some ideas …
